Many years (decades) ago, Eugene Conroy took us to a place nearly impossible to find unless you have a clue where it is. It is called the Minaun, and it is a magical forest and fern covered walk that softly takes you to a much quieter place and time. If you listen carefully, you can hear the history of Ireland talking to you.
Upon entry, we are bit surprised because the car park was in an area that the forest had been cleared after the last time we visited. It was very open with only young trees 5 or 6 feet tall.
Very quickly we descended into the dense forest and ferns.
You have to really scan as you walk the paths because there is all sorts of life and beauty in every foot of the path.
There are a couple of look out points and benches to watch the river below.
There are flowers, berries and ferns. In many places the earth is soft with a dense moss and pine needle bed.
