One of the things Kathi and I both said after we docked in Ireland is “we’re home”. Ireland is a second home to us, and the Conroys are our Irish family. Now that Briana is with us we have been catching up with loads of the Conroys and Fletchers.
Jackie and Eileen Fletcher welcomed us into their lovely home for home-made scones and apple tart. The conversation flowed and we talked loads about their children and grandchildren, all of whom they are so proud. We had a lovely evening, and marveled at Eileen’s baking skills.
After an 18 hour day Briana was still up for visiting with Fran and Myra Conroy. They have an amazing home, and the stories flowed as their dog Kobe entertained us with his antics.
On Friday we had a lovely time exploring Waterford history with an hour long walking tour, and a Virtual Reality Viking experience. We would recommend both to everyone visiting the oldest Viking city in Ireland.
We HAD to make a stop for a pint at our favorite “flyover” pub, Jack Meade’s. It was a lovely afternoon and we savored the sun, the pints, and a few of the friendly Shetland ponies.
Friday evening found us in the Cove pub with the master of our house, Eugene and his good friend Tony Burke. Eoin (Eugene’s son) was more than a little surprised at how Briana had changed in 14 years, but they joined a small group of his friends and danced and partied the night (almost all of it) away.
